The Altar of Hope update adds a new type of reward - Candles of Hope - which you can earn and then spend on various attributes which should make future missions safer for your party. As you’d expect, the bigger the danger, the bigger reward in terms of Candles bagged at the end. Missions will offer more Candles the further you manage to progress, but suffer a wipe and you’ll see your Candle hoard penalised....

This Free Radical Design will be a new developer owned by publisher Deep Silver, with several key figures from the original developer. In a statement published on Twitter this morning, Deep Silver said the company would be “headed up” by TimeSplitters co-creators Steve Ellis and David Doak, who were part of the core team from the original Free Radical Design’s heyday. Deep Silver also made it clear that work had not yet actually started on a new TimeSplitters game and that the studio was still being formed at present....
Some of my earliest memories from Destiny 1 are of looping the Cosmodrome for Spinmetal Leaves, hopping off my Sparrow to gather them, then heading off to the next node. Levelling your gear - which in turn levels your character - required plugging bits of these resources in, and I don’t want to think about the number of hours I spent grinding these out. Let Me Solo Her rose to fame recently helping players defeat Malenia, one of the game’s trickiest bosses. Online, players can summon others to assist in their own game. Let Me Solo Her regularly left a summon sign outside the Malenia boss fight to aid players struggling with the battle - a testament to goodwill in the Elden Ring community. The player soon became iconic on social media, for his lack of clothes, pothead, and twin katanas....

Freshly-revealed Paldean Pokémon include Fidough, a chubby puppy that looks like it’s made of oily bread and Cetitan, an icy whale with legs. We also got to see a Paldean Wooper, the game’s first announced regional form - here, it’s brown and poisonous from living in the area’s bogs. A brief blurb for Fidough caught my eye in particular: “Fidough’s moist, smooth skin has elastic qualities and is both firm and soft at the same time,” The Pokémon Company described....
The Oculus brand has been synonymous with VR for almost a decade now, and Facebook opted to keep the name when it purchased the Oculus company in 2014 - although it has been steadily phasing the name out for all but its VR hardware in recent years. That too will soon be no more, however, as revealed by Meta chief technology officer Andrew Bosworth in a post to Facebook. “We’re bringing our brands and products closer to Meta,” Bosworth explained, “which is the umbrella for all our products and services....
Cuphead, who arrives alongside pal Mugman, is the latest in a steadily expanding line-up of video game characters to cameo in Mediatronic’s smash-hit multiplayer party game, following the likes of Sonic the Hedgehog and Doom Guy. He’ll debut as a purchasable costume in Fall Guys’ shop this Wednesday, 24th February, while Mugman sticks his crockery topped frame into the store starting Saturday, 27th February. Interested parties will need to cough up 10 crowns for each full costume - five for the top half, five for the bottom - and there’s an accompanying emote costing a further five crowns....
This update (spotted by PC Gamer) includes catchy renditions of Rule Britannia, working trains, and - checks notes - murderous mail worker bots known as Post Boxers that will “stamp you out” if you do them wrong. Huh. This latest update video is truly a sight to behold. Along with the Post Boxers, it also introduces us to another bot out for our blood - the Naval Walker. This is a sentient (in so much as it walks around at its own free will) mine that will chase you down....
Fallout Worlds adds two new modes: Custom Worlds for Fallout 1st members and Public Worlds designed by Bethesda and available to all Fallout 76 players. As reported by Variety, Purnell will be taking on a currently unspecified lead role in the upcoming series. However, sources close to the show have revealed Purnell’s character will be “upbeat and uncannily direct with an all-American can-do spirit. “But an intensity in her eyes says she might just be a tiny bit dangerous.” Along with her aforementioned work, Purnell has also had roles in Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, Disney’s Maleficent and Kick-Ass 2....
