As previously reported, players discovered a cut pair of underwear in the game. The Deathbed Smalls were meant to be part of the NPC Fia’s armour set, but are unobtainable without hacking the game. But hacks and mods cannot be used without by-passing the game’s anti-cheat system. And simply owning the pants - even if obtained by another player - is seemingly enough to trigger a soft ban. ORIGINAL STORY: FIFA 23 officially launched its early access period today for those who bought the Ultimate Edition, and already the servers have gone down. At the time of publication, Ultimate Team was unplayable on both PlayStation and Xbox. FIFA 23 doesn’t launch proper until this Friday, 30th September, and its early access wasn’t meant to begin until 4pm this afternoon, but the 10-hour EA Play trial was made available a day early, meaning FIFA 23’s effective launch was yesterday, 26th September....

Earlier this week, a report by the New York Times suggested EA’s recent surprise announcement that it was “exploring the idea of renaming” its long-running FIFA football game series comes at a time when its licence renewal negotiations with FIFA have stalled as the two parties struggle to agree on specifics. One area of disagreement is said to be financial - with FIFA reportedly looking to more than double the cost of its licence to over $1 billion USD for each four-year World Cup cycle - but the report also claimed EA is keen to explore other avenues using the FIFA licence, such as video game tournaments and digital products like NFTs, while FIFA wants to limit the scope of the deal to pursue new opportunities itself....

As beloved as the original is, the frame rate is pretty shaky - often dropping to around 15fps during battle sequences. Kyle Hanagami, a choreographer who has worked with Britney Spears, Justin Bieber and J-Lo, filed suit against Epic regarding the “It’s Complicated” emote, which was released within Fortnite back in August 2020. Lawyers for Hanagami have said the emote uses copyrighted dance moves from a 2017 video set to Charlie Puth’s “How Long” (thanks, Kotaku) without credit or compensation. The moves in question appear at the beginning of the It’s Complicated emote’s dance routine, although the emote then continues on after....

Russian speedrunner Mekarazium completed a live run of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance as one of a handful of online (rather than in-person) runs.
