Everything shown so far points to an experience very much in the same vein as the interactive narrative adventures pioneered by Telltale Games - which isn’t particularly surprising given that Dramatic Labs was founded by controversial former Telltale Games boss Kevin Bruner, and includes around 20 former Telltale employees....

The song, titled Celestial, was released yesterday and its music video features Sheeran going about his daily life as his Pokémon pals join him from a hand-drawn and animated universe. Upon its release, both Pokémon and Sheeran revealed the song will be featured in Nintendo’s upcoming titles. The action will take place over on Motive’s Twitch, and is due to kick off at 6pm UK time (that’s 1pm Eastern or 10am Pacific). It’s perhaps a little surprising to see Motive showing more of the project so soon after its announcement at the end of July, and with a fair while still to go (it can be reasonably assumed) until the project launches. But we won’t say no....

The function was tested over the past month among a subsection of streamers in the US. It allows both viewers and streamers to pay to “boost” a stream to a front page slot for extra promotion. However, reporter Zach Bussey (who covers Twitch stories) has collected the data and believes there’s no immediate impact from using the feature. Bussey compared the data from the test month to the previous month for a number of streamers involved in the test....

Twitch’s raid feature was originally designed as a positive community tool, enabling streamers to redirect all viewers currently watching their broadcast to a target channel as an “easy way to share audiences”. However, malicious users quickly began exploiting the feature, setting up scores of dummy accounts and bots to flood other, often marginalised, streamers in order to dox, harass, and attack them while they work. While Twitch has previously conceded it needs to “do more to address these issues”, the phenomenon has become so widespread in recent times that streamers organised a one-day strike early this month to protest a perceived lack of meaningful action by the company....

Now, it has been announced that Steve Blackman, who is the showrunner for The Umbrella Academy (as well as working on the currently in development ISS drama Orbital) will be responsible for this upcoming adaptation (via Deadline). Blackman spoke of his enthusiasm for the Netflix project, calling Guerrilla’s Horizon Zero Dawn an “exceptionally well-crafted game with wonderful characters not often seen in the rank-and-file of the gaming world.” He also confirmed that Aloy will be a main character within this upcoming adaptation....
