Using footage from 1987’s Evil Dead 2 and 1992’s Army of Darkness, content creator eli_handle_b․wav has replaced Resident Evil Village protagonist Ethan Winters with Ash. The results are both horrifying and amusing all in one. Instead of ripping himself free from Lady Dimitrescu’s clutches a la Ethan, this rendition of Village sees new hero Ash instead shimmying up to his towering captor and offering to open a bottle of champagne (I mean, someone was going to do it eventually, just look at her)....

Skip to the 9:50 mark in the video below and you’ll hear the studio team discussing victory conditions, and see an exhaustive list of factions noted under the heading “Domination Campaign Victory”. Intriguingly, this list includes four factions new to the Total War: Warhammer series and unannounced so far. These, fans reckon, are likely candidates for DLC in future. As listed by NME, those four factions are: The Ecstatic Legions, The Fecundites, Legion of the Gorequeen and Puppets of Misrule....

However, some fans are unhappy with both graphical changes and the cost of the remake. Gearbox describes Coiled Captors - which can be accessed via Vesper’s first Mirror of Mystery - as a “repayable dungeon challenge”, explaining that as well as dealing with fierce resistance from the snake-like members of the Coiled, a secretive sect that worships ancient gods, players will need to tackle the four powerful forms of the DLC’s captive old god, Chums....

Official social media accounts say Football Manager 2022 will be free on the Epic Games Store, too, but it currently isn’t. According to the Football Manager Twitter account, there are some problems the developer is trying to work through. The battle royale’s original Island was sucked into a black hole after 10 seasons, to be replaced with the rebooted Chapter 2 Island we have now. Fans had expected Fortnite’s Chapter 2 to also last 10 seasons - but there’s now whispers developer Epic Games may switch things up sooner than expected with an early arrival of Chapter 3. Fortnite is currently on its 18th season, Chapter 2 Season 8, which is due to end on 5th December....

Speaking to The Verge, Epic spokesperson Elka Looks said the company would offer “a few hundred” of its contractors full-time employment and revealed “most but not all” of these workers are QA testers. In addition to this, Looks also confirmed those who become full-time employees of Epic will be “eligible for the company’s US employee benefits plans”. However, this is not to say Epic will be doing all of its testing in house from now on....

It appears the Bundestag made a mistake with its own announcement of the legal reform. The announcement, which can be viewed on the Bundestag’s website, no longer includes the line: “It is also planned to deactivate cost traps such as ’loot boxes’ by default.” The amendment does stipulate that age ratings will be expanded to include descriptors for various problematic mechanics, including “cost traps”. The idea here is to indicate risk if it was not taken into account in the age classification....

The original Goat Simulator, developed by Coffee Stain Studios, launched back in 2014, delivering a daft blast of physics-based nonsense in which players took control of a goat, causing chaos, inflicting damage, and accruing points across an open-world map. Its goat-themed mayhem struck a chord and the game went on to sell “millions” of copies, in turn convincing Coffee Stain that a sequel was required. Goat Simulator 3 (because sequential numbering be damned) was announced earlier this year, promising, among other things, a new sandbox world known as San Angora, full of quests, collectibles, and secrets....
