Releasing as part of the June 2021 Community Day, it is focused around the highlighted Pokémon - Gible - and requires you buy a ticket from the in-game store leading up to or during the event hours to participate. The quest adds some welcome structure to the event - and a handful of rewards, including Gible evolution encounters, and a Lucky Egg - as part of the ticket. Originally launched in 2000, this pocket monster puzzler plays similarly to Panel de Pon, albeit with tiles themed around Pokémon types. The game’s current state is far from perfect, leading to plenty of glitches, jankiness and sometimes full on Bethesda-level comedy horror. The original proof-of-concept demo - titled A Superman Style Flight Experience (UE5) - was created by Toybox Games’ Tyson Butler-Boschma, utilising the City Sample from Epic Games’ The Matrix Awakens as a sandbox for superhero flight. In April, Butler-Boschma made the playable demo freely available via itch.io, but unfortunately, it’s here things begin to go awry. At the start of November, Butler-Boschma was alerted to the fact an entity calling itself Hero Game Studios had taken his demo - a project he created “for fun to show what could be made” in Unreal Engine 5 - and started selling it on Steam under the name Heroes City Superman Edition with an asking price of $10....

From today, Steam players that select the ‘research-edition – Research Edition 2022’ drop-down option under PowerWash Simulator’s Properties > Betas menu will gain access to what FuturLab calls a “one-of-a-kind anonymous research study centred around the well-being of PowerWash Simulator’s players [that] also aims to deliver insights into the larger discourse of gaming and mental health.” FuturLab says two types of anonymous, de-identified data will be collected from players that opt-in to the PowerWash Simulator’s Research Edition: ‘base telemetry’, which includes player progress and other general gameplay activities that’ll be provided to the researchers for analysis, plus a second type made up of responses given directly to researchers by players....
