Screenshots from a working build of the service have been posted by The Verge. These show a version currently in testing by Microsoft employees. A familiar library of cloud-based games available through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate can be seen, along with sections for genres, recently-added games, and those leaving the catalogue soon. Microsoft already offers game streaming to Android devices as part of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and previously announced it would build a browser-based solution to get around Apple’s restrictions which have blocked an xCloud app for iPhones and iPads....

Designed in partnership with the disability community, the new adaptive accessories consist of three main components - an Adaptive Mouse, Adaptive Buttons, and an Adaptive Hub - with the idea being that users can augment the first two devices with 3D printed accessories in order to customise mouse and keyboard inputs in a way that best suits their needs. The new Adaptive Mouse, for instance, can be customised with a thumb support and tail extension - or 3D printed tails - as required, while the Adaptive Hub serves as a means of either replacing or augmenting a traditional keyboard....

The deal comes after a previous $480m contract in 2018 to develop prototype versions for the army, CNBC News reported. The IVAS (Integrated Visual Augmented System) concept used the headset’s display to show map and thermal imaging systems, as well as the aim for a weapon. That agreement was criticised by Microsoft employees in an open letter, in which staff said they “did not sign up to develop weapons, and we demand a say in how our work is used”....

Gunsmith was first introduced in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019) as a replacement of the attachment system used in preceding titles, and it’s been used in every game since. The system allows players to customise their weapons in greater detail, with multiple attachments, optics and of course, skins. In Netflix’s latest financial results, the streaming giant revealed that despite airing new seasons of front-runner Stranger Things and other popular series such as The Umbrella Academy. In the UK, the cost of living crisis is one of the biggest issues currently faced by households, and streaming services are feeling the impact of it. The BBC reported that many people are choosing to cancel their subscriptions in order to compensate for increasing bills and prices....

Perhaps the biggest name to featuring in Netflix’s latest casting announcement for The Witcher’s Season 2 is Simon Callow, who takes on the role of Codringher, the Dorian detective. He’s joined by Silent Witnesses’ Liz Carr, who’ll be playing business partner Fenn. Adjoa Andoh (recently seen as Lady Danbury in Netflix’s Bridgerton) joins The Witcher as priestess Nenneke, and Cassie Clare (Brave New World) has been cast as Phillippa Eilhart, sorceress and advisor to King Vizimir....

This trailer, titled Myths of Midgard, offers a brief summary of 2018’s God of War epic. It stars Felicia Day, as she narrates the story of Kratos and Atreus so far. There are also little ‘cameos’ from know-it-all Mimir throughout the retelling, which is full of some really gorgeous artwork. You can check it out for yourself below. Player numbers have been given a significant boost - up from a peak of around 48,000 people logging on each day to more than 130,000 - and still rising. The leap in player activity comes alongside a Twitch drop promotion and a half price sale on Steam. Player numbers began spiking on the 2nd November - some time after the game’s recent Brimstone Sands update went live on 18th October....

After around five seconds of walking you’ll encounter your first tree: a gritty slash of texture in the baleful glare of your sword. Early on in your time with Nix Umbra the trees might seem comforting: landmarks and barriers, things to retreat to, weave through while fleeing. You peep around the trunk and it bursts into flame, illuminating other trees, grouped in a ring like petrified ogres at feast. Your sun icon dims a little....

Built by artist Ushio Tokura, the map features a full recreation of Buckingham Palace and Pall Mall, along with a street party that includes bunting, cake, champagne and a game of pin the tail on the corgi (I hope they got permission from the council). The map took three designers 650 hours within two weeks to build, 45m blocks and covers a virtual area of roughly 830,000 square feet. As players move down the Mall, they will be able to see Buckingham Palace and the Victoria Memorial fully immersed in ray-traced global illumination....
