The change goes live when Halo Infinite updates later today. 343 has faced criticism from players ever since it launched the free-to-play multiplayer portion of Halo Infinite for the slow pace of progression through the battle pass, which is tied to completing challenges. It’s the third overall update to challenges and progression since Halo Infinite’s multiplayer launched on 15th November. 343 took the controversial decision to restrict battle pass progression to the completion of challenges. This sparked a backlash from players who said the system made progression painfully difficult. In a blog post, 343 said significant changes to this system, such as performance-based XP, per-match XP and “additional progression vectors” will take time to add to the game, but in the interim “meaningful” services-side updates have been made....

On the tiniest LCD screen I’ve ever seen, here’s Doom running inside a single Lego brick. Brilliantly, this brick is a Lego element typically used as a computer screen, with the insides hollowed out to insert a miniature circuit and LCD display. The creation was put together by Doom enthusiast James Brown, who shared his work on Twitter (thanks, MP1st). The LCD screen offers a 72x40 resolution - just enough to make out what’s going on....

After revealing the face of Master Chief (AKA actor Pablo Schreiber) in its premiere episode, the series’ third slice has now unveiled his naked bottom. Fans have expressed surprise at seeing their suited hero standing in the butt, sorry, buff during the episode screened last night via Paramount+ in the US. (The show remains unavailable to watch in the UK.) Why is the Chief naked? Without spoiling anything major, he’s inspecting an object lodged at the base of his spine - and, because he’s Master Chief, he plans to perform the surgery to remove said object himself....

Announced at The Game Awards, a teaser trailer showed tasks being completed in first person. Being sus has never been so immersive. We can’t wait to be ejected into space. There’s no release date yet, but it’s due out on PlayStation VR, Meta Quest 2 and Steam. Development of Among Us VR is being handled by Schell Games, who is most known for the VR series I Expect You To Die. Speaking to TrueAchievements, former Eidos Montréal art director Jonathan Jacque-Belletête stated that before it went back over to be worked on in Japan, his team had a “really cool” Final Fantasy game in the works. “[Eidos Montréal] brought back Deus Ex. I was the art director on that - Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Then [I was] the executive art director on Mankind Divided. Then we tried to do Final Fantasy 15,” he said....

The re-release of the 20-year-old console action role-playing game was scheduled to hit the eShop on 7th May alongside PlayStation and Xbox, but suffered a delay at the last minute. Black Isle subsequently tweeted to apologise for the situation. “Due to an unforeseen issue on the Nintendo Switch store, we’re going to have to delay the launch for a few days to fix it,” Black Isle said at the time....

Update 3.3 was initially due to launch in February, but DICE made the decision to delay its release to “improve the quality of our updates, and include additional changes”. Its key new feature, however, remains the aforementioned Scoreboard UI refresh, which DICE has detailed more thoroughly in its latest patch notes, confirming an “improved” Match Overview, a new team vs. team split look for Conquest, Breakthrough, Rush, and Team Deathmatch modes....

Space for Sale casts players in the role of a cute astronaut that’s just bought an entire galaxy on the cheap, with the aim of turning it into a dream destination for alien homeseekers across the cosmos. To reach that goal, players must scour the galaxy’s procedural planets in search of the perfect spot to fulfil their clients’ sometimes eccentric needs. Although Space for Sale’s basic concept sounds very management sim, Mirage says the game’s sandbox-style gameplay is more of a “hands-on experience” than that might suggest, with players needing to explore each planet in person as they hunt down the ideal location to drop a plot, construct buildings, collect resources, scan items, and so on....

The Blade Runner game, for those unfamiliar, released in 1997, and, unlike the vast majority of licensed adaptations, was an extraordinary piece of work, not only managing to perfectly capture the neon-streaked dystopian atmosphere of the movie in a story that ran parallel to its action, but doing so in ways both wildly ambitious and legitimately groundbreaking. Although Blade Runner takes its cue from narrative-driven point-and-click games, it immediately distinguishes itself from its genre peers by sending players, in the role of Blade Runner Ray McCoy, on a heavily randomised adventure....
