Feeling hungry? Combine a sliver of meat with a smouldering butterfly to create a seared steak. Tasty! In the opening area, enemies can inflict you with the Plague of Limgrave that accelerates the effects of hunger and thirst. Over in Caelid, meanwhile, there’s the Scarlet Parasite as well as overwhelming heat....

Released following the latest Letter from the Producer live broadcast, the trailer shows plenty of flashy gameplay of bosses and dungeons from the new content. Check it out below. Additions to the game include new main scenario quests, a new 24-player alliance raid, a new residential district in which to buy plots by lottery, player portraits called Adventurer Plates and more. Patch 6.1 will also bring the arrival of the new Duty Support System for A Realm Reborn content, allowing players to complete dungeons solo alongside NPCs....

This standalone, choice based, narrative is set in the “perpetually war-torn Promethea” and will see players deciding the fates of “three underdogs out to make mayhem in their business”. And what of these underdogs? Well, they are altruistic scientist Anu (pictured above), her ambitious “streetwise” brother Octavio, and the fierce, frogurt-flinging Fran. While this new boxed version of the 3D fighting game, which appears to be Europe-only, includes all 36 characters available in the base version of Tekken 7, it only includes eight of the 15 DLC characters. We can see the eight included DLC characters on the box art for this Legendary Edition: Armor King, Anna Williams, Craig Marduk, Julia Chang, Lei Wulong, Zafina, Ganryu and Kunimitsu. Bandai Namco has seemingly left out all the guest characters, including Noctis from Final Fantasy 15 and Negan from The Walking Dead series, as well as brand new Tekken characters added via DLC for Tekken 7, such as Leroy Smith and Fahkumram....

On the monster front, there’re no brand-new additions in Title Update 3, but some existing favourites do get a bit of a makeover. Elder Dragons Kushala Daora and Teostra, for instance, have now shaken off the affliction, only to emerge in Risen form - both available at Master Rank 120 or higher - causing them to become much more menacing when their anger peaks. Then there’s the Chaotic Gore Magala, unlocked at Master Rank 10 or higher....

Originally planned for autumn, the update was delayed in September for more development time, with a release window of the holiday season. So far, Nintendo has stated the update will support local and online play. 21 holes from Wii Sports will be included. Online play will support up to eight players in survival golf, where the player with the most strokes will be knocked out. The update will be available for free on 29th November....

Nintendo Switch Sports sees three classic sports returning - Tennis, Bowling and Chambara. You’ll also be able to play three new games: Soccer (Football), which uses a giant ball, just like real soccer (football), Badminton, which will please friend of Eurogamer Ed Thorn, and Volleyball. I don’t know why I capitalised all the sports but it’s too late to change that now. You can attach a Joy-Con to your leg with one of those strappy things to play Soccer’s shoot-out mode at launch (strappy thing included with physical copy of the game), while a free Summer update will add the ability to play actual matches that way....

Far be it from me to suggest yet another subscription is the answer to this modern malaise of plenty - and yet, maybe it is? BritBox, a streaming service put together by the UK’s dominant TV networks, BBC and ITV, is something quite different, with limitations that feel like strengths, strong curation and a narrow, culturally specific remit. There’s less choice but more flavour. It’s a vibe, a nostalgic haven from the legions of polished transatlantic dramedies vying for your attention elsewhere....

Outside of the tech, Overwatch 2 is now a free to play game. That’s big change number one; it’s free for anyone to download and play and much like Fortnite or Warzone, the model now revolves around season battle passes. It makes sense really: it wouldn’t have been fair exactly to charge the fanbase all over again for what - again - amounts to more of a big patch update....

For one, it’s now shifted to a 5v5 format, with only one Tank on the battlefield at any given time. On top of that, a new tank has joined the fray in the form of Ramattra, the Null Sector leader who can transform into a hulking behemoth. With Season 2, a lot has changed and metas have shifted significantly in even just two months, so it’s understandable if you are a little lost on what’s doing well and what is not in Overwatch 2 - once you have unlocked all Heroes first, of course....

Park Beyond’s big marquee addition is, of course, the aforementioned “impossification”, a twist that wrenches the usually grounded theme park management genre a little out of reality to create a world where technology and physics are no longer limitations. The result is a game where players can build impossible, gravity defying rides, bringing Till Nowak’s wonderful short The Centrifuge Brain Project to mind. Based on an early build given to press ahead of Gamescom, though, Park Beyond’s impossification gimmick is, perhaps not unsurprisingly, a fun if rather inessential addition to the theme park management genre....

Adding a fresh twist to palaces, there are now three Will Seeds to find within each of them, coloured red, green, and blue. You won’t find them in the Depth of Mementos area, but there is an eighth palace that didn’t feature in the original Persona 5.
