Today’s statement from OtherSide makes no mention of the long-awaited System Shock 3, which Spector had previously been building. Instead, the announcement seems aimed at inviting fresh development talent to the studio’s new game, which is still early in production. System Shock 3 was originally announced in 2015, when Spector was revealed as its creative adviser. The project fell off the rails in 2018, however, after publisher Starbreeze found itself in financial difficulties....

It occurred reading The Tombs of Atuan recently, the second Earthsea book by Ursula K. Le Guin. It’s a book about a wizard but something about the magic feels different. It feels incomprehensible. It’s not defined by dice rolls or numbered values or rules, but worked out somewhere outside of explanation, just past the edge of understanding. A climactic battle happens where you can’t see it: in the wizard’s mind....

Their latest mod is Trombone Champ, the surprise Steam hit of last week. Raicuparta shared a video of himself attempting Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony in VR. SMS Protect is a system first rolled out in Overwatch 2 that is designed to stop banned players from creating new accounts and continuing to play. It was later extended to Call of Duty. The system was controversial at launch as players with prepaid phone numbers were unable to enroll. This disproportionately affected those on the lower end of the income scale who are unable to, or simply cannot afford a pay monthly phone contract....

According to the lawsuit, as reported by Bloomberg Law, the employee - referred to only as Jane Doe - started work as a senior administrative assistant to executives in Activision Blizzard’s IT department in 2017. The lawsuit, filed in the Central District of California, accuses EngineOwning of “trafficking for circumvention devices”, “intentional interference with contractual relations”, and “unfair competition”. EngineOwning sells cheats for a number of online games, including Call of Duty games, Halo Infinite, Battlefield 5, Splitgate and more. Players can subscribe to receive a suite of cheats, including radars, aimbots, and triggerbots for automatic shooting. According to the lawsuit, Activision “seeks to put a stop to unlawful conduct by an organisation that is distributing and selling for profit numerous malicious software products designed to enable members of the public to gain unfair competitive advantages”....
