When paired with the compatible smartphone app, these trackers can then be used to animate an avatar within said app. In addition to adding your avatar to real-world locations, users will also be able to combine avatars and background images within the app. Meanwhile, it will also use VRChat as a motion input device....

Spanish La Liga club Real Betis announced the signing of Argentinian defender Germán Pezzella with a video called GTA 4: Real Betis Edition. In the video, striker Aitor Rubial walks to the club’s stadium, the Estadio Benito Villamarín, with the camera aping the GTA perspective, and with a walk befitting Niko Bellic himself. Things didn’t exactly start off smoothly for Outriders when it launched on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC at the start of April, of course, with server woes leaving many players unable to access the game for almost three days. Despite those early wobbles, Square now says Outriders has seen over 3.5 million unique players since launch, amassing an “average play times of over 30 hours” and “extremely high engagement for co-operative play”....

The HD-2D style refers to the mix of HD 3D backdrops and pixel art, popularised by Octopath Traveller and the forthcoming Triangle Strategy. As reported by Famitsu (thanks VGC), the developers of Triangle Strategy confirmed on a Square Enix radio show that president Yosuka Matsuda wants SNES games remade in the art style. Live A Live is already planned for such a remake, as announced at Nintendo’s recent Direct presentation - a game that has until now only been released in Japan....

“We’re so excited for Starfield we couldn’t help but imagine this upcoming game in Unreal,” the team shared on their YouTube channel (Enfant Terrible). The footage may only be short, but it is absolutely gorgeous and packed with swelling music and sprawling, otherworldly, vistas. Switch Sports’ servers were taking offline and save data backups were suspended on Friday, while Nintendo investigated a significant bug introduced in last week’s 1.2.1 update that caused crashes on the game’s pre-match loading screen, during both online and offline play. Servers and save data backup functionality have remained unavailable since then, but Nintendo Japan has now offered an update on its website (thanks VGC), confirming the crashing was caused by a save writing error under certain conditions and revealing it’ll be restoring all functionality across two waves later this week....

There weren’t many exclusive games available on the streaming service, but with game preservation continuing to be a hot topic, there are a number of games at risk unless they’re ported to other platforms. Yesterday Google announced the end of Stadia, its cloud-based streaming service.
