Those willing to dig into what Halo Infinite, which was playable on PC as well as Xbox, has to offer unearthed everything from strange helmet attachments to memes. Redditor marcopolo444 posted links to a long list of images hosted on Imgr showing stuff that wasn’t available in the technical preview, such as a red nose reindeer helmet attachment clearly set to launch this Christmas. Let’s start with the good stuff first: Halo Infinite makes a much better first impression on PC, Series X and Series S, thanks to fixes to long-standing issues with the game’s pre-rendered cutscenes. After the patch, colours and black levels are now correct and the pre-rendered video sequence plays back with proper frame-pacing, making it feel much smoother and more polished as a result. This might not sound like a big deal, but this sequence cost a lot of money to make, it’s key to the game’s initial story-telling and for it to present the way it did at launch is a mystery....

The Last Campfire, if you’ve not yet had the pleasure, follows the adventures of “a lost Ember trapped in a puzzling place, searching for meaning and a way home”. According to a German voiceover studio called iksample (thanks, Gematsu), the team worked on the remaster at the end of 2020, although the webpage that originally leaked that information has now been taken down. Apple initially revoked Epic’s Fortnite developer account - blocking Fortnite from being distributed on its devices - last August, after Epic deliberately circumvented contractually mandated App Store payment mechanisms within its Fortnite iOS app - a move Apple has since called an “intentional breach of contract”. Epic appealed the move unsuccessfully, and Fortnite has remained unavailable on Apple devices for the duration of its legal proceedings. However, now the court’s judgement has been passed - which included confirmation that Apple is within its rights to keep Fortnite off its App Store - Epic has once again attempted to have its developer account reinstated, this time by appealing directly to Apple....
