As reported by Kotaku, PlayStations users have taken to social media on discovering that the hitherto unknown “expiration dates” on their digital games have reportedly expired. When trying to re-download the classic version of Chrono Cross, one user reports he received a noticed telling him that his licence to play the game had expired on 31st December, 1969. Similarly, another player was given the same message when trying to access Chrono Cross on PS3....

Over the past year, indie studio Toukana Interactive has made a number of tweaks to the game, most recently adding an undo button that was heavily requested by players. Other additions include new biomes (Halloween and winter), as well as a creative mode. The game began as a project by four students during their studies and has gone on to receive multiple awards, including Best Game at the German Developer Awards....

The heavily-delayed mobile version of the embattled eFootball 2022 arrives eight months after eFootball 2022 first launched and was widely panned. Also on 2nd June, the 1.1.0 update for eFootball 2022 on PC and console comes out - the first update since season one launched in April. “Too little, too late,” was Eurogamer’s verdict. Konami was vague about what these updates actually do - in a tweet the company said the new mobile game update includes “new gameplay” and Dream Team....

In a tweet apologising once again for eFootball’s disastrous launch, Konami said the 0.9.1. update “will focus on fixing the issues already reported and those you continue to report”. That’s frustratingly vague - “issues already reported and those you continue to report” could include anything, from the slow passes to the broken collisions. And then there are the player faces. Konami said it will update with more details “as we move forwards”, and will address feedback and requests in future updates....

Wingefors, whose company owns Saints Row developer Volition, acknowledged that views on the series’ reboot had been “polarised” following its bug-laced release - in Eurogamer’s Saints Row review, Vikki Blake noted that its ‘Unto the Breach’ mission was unplayable for her. “There are a lot of things that could be said and details around it. It’s a relatively quiet year for Gamescom - though it is lovely to see the show back on its feet and filled with sweaty attendees - and it’s fair to say this was reflected in last night’s showings. We got a big reveal for Dead Island 2 - which is not set on an island - and a release date for Return to Monkey Island, but otherwise, surprises were thin on the ground, and there were a lot of CGI trailers....

During the latest Letter from the Producer broadcast, producer and director Naoki Yoshida outlined what players can expect from the next update.
