The popular action role-playing game last night launched the Ultimatum expansion. Here, players risk items for coveted rewards in increasingly difficult trials. There is an element of competition here, with those reaching the highest maps first expected to dominate the in-game economy over the next few months. These players would also gain the lead in the fight for extremely valuable rewards given to those who finish on top of the ladder....

Coming this holiday season, the eight new tracks will include Merry Mountain from Mario Kart Tour, offering a snow filled and festive vibe for the time of year. Ito first joined Sony in 1986, where he initially worked on in-car audio equipment before joining the PlayStation division in 2000 to lead hardware engineering. Two-factor authentication is now required when signing-in, and certain account features have been disabled (thanks, PushSquare). It is now no longer possible to create a new PlayStation account on either console, for example, instead leaving this to Sony’s more secure website accessible via PC or mobile. With these updates installed, PS3 now sits at firmware version 4.89, while Vita will sit at version 3.74. Last year Sony was forced into an embarrassing U-turn when fans erupted in anger at news it would shutter the PS3 and Vita stores....

A short statement issued today confirmed plans for the theme park to work with The Pokémon Company and begin integrating the hugely-popular pocket monster franchise from as soon as 2022. “Universal Studios Japan and The Pokémon Company will enter a long-term partnership to jointly explore ground-breaking entertainment that will immerse guests into the world of Pokémon with innovative technology and creativity beginning in 2022,” Universal Studios’ stated.
