The deluxe edition, which costs £49.99, includes three days of early access, closed beta access, staging branch access, the Welcome Pack, and the Future Weapons and Tools Pack. Then there’s the £69.99 ultimate edition, which includes everything in the deluxe edition but also an upgraded Welcome Pack, 1100 Rust Coins, and an Elite Combat Skin Pack....

The somewhat inevitable crossover includes a series of in-game quests for a free emote voiced by Reynolds himself (or in your local language in non-English speaking countries), as well as a frankly horrifying skin. This skin is Reynolds’ other character in the film, the muscled “Dude”. It’ll be available in Fortnite’s item shop tonight upon its usual reset time. As Rare detailed earlier this year, Sea of Thieves’ new limited-time adventures will arrive on a monthly basis, each one propelling the events of an overarching narrative steadily forward. The first of these arrived (albeit in a somewhat underwhelming fashion) in February’s Shrouded Islands update, which set the scene for adventures to come when a mysterious fog engulfed the now-deserted Golden Sands outpost and a key character in Sea of Thieves’ lore, Belle, made her long-awaited in-game debut....

Though we still don’t know very much about it at all - right now all we have is a very brief teaser and a website with very little information on it - fans are registering their dismay that it’s a mobile-only title in the only way they know how; by downvoting it. Without knowing anything else about the new IP, the teaser trailer is currently racking up four times as many dislikes as likes on its Japanese-language YouTube account....

The kung-fu beat ’em up is brutally hard and was criticised at launch for not including difficulty options. Developer Sloclap previously announced it would be adding in options - and now we know when. The three options will be named Student, Disciple, and Master. Further extras are due out over the course of 2022. Summer will bring advanced scoring and gameplay modifiers - including no pendant, which would surely mean playing through the entire game without dying....

Metzen’s retirement from Blizzard in 2016 came as a shock to many a fan. He’d been with the company for 23 years at that point, serving as head writer and lore guru (or, more officially, senior vice president of story and franchise development) and had become one of its most recognisable faces across countless BlizzCons. “The reason I use the word ‘retire’”, Metzen explained in a statement at the time of his departure, “is because I’m not going to some other company or starting up new projects or anything remotely like that....

Some of the best Skyrim mods available use the Skyrim Script Extender (SKSE) plug-in, but each time the Bethesda Creation Club receives a new update of content the SKSE can break. That’s why many players will load the game using a separate mod manager. The Anniversary Edition release includes the Special Edition version of the game along with all mods available in the Creation Club and more yet to be announced....

According to a new video by YouTube channel Did You Know Gaming (narrated by David Hayter no less), game director Hideo Kojima wanted to add more rats into the game, allowing the player to assign them names and raise them as pets. Rats were apparently the first life forms Snake encounters in the cold of Alaska, and would play an important role in the game. There’s even a reference to this in the Shadow Moses level of Metal Gear Solid 4, where Snake chats to Otacon via Codec about his little, furry friends....

It’s the same company that may have outed that Sonic Colors remaster a few weeks back, too. French site Sogamely boasts no cover art or release date, and right now only lists the game as coming to PS4 “soon”. While that can only put this firmly in the take-with-a-giant-bucket-of-salt category, we do know that Sega is currently busy celebrating 30 years of Sonic, so a game collection is certainly a possibility (thanks, VGC)....

The feature is live now on PS5 - apparently in the UK only - for just two games: Death Stranding Director’s Cut and Sackboy: A Big Adventure. Head to the PlayStation Store listing for either game and you’ll see the option to download a free trial. The Death Stranding trial offers six hours of playtime, whereas the Sackboy trial offers five hours. There’s a catch, though - and a pretty big one at that: according to the small print, the timer begins from the moment you hit “download trial” via console, or “add to library” via web....

The circular bird was the symbol of British studio Psygnosis throughout the company’s life in the 1990s - until it was consolidated into Sony and rebranded SCE Studio Liverpool. Now, the legendary logo lives on in memory - and was recently renewed as a trademark by Sony itself. The trademark itself is not new - the same filing has existed since 1998, and was last renewed back in 2012. This latest renewal (spotted by analyst Roberto Serrano - thanks, ResetEra) has some raised eyebrows, however, as it comes relatively soon after Sony’s September purchase of UK developer Firesprite - home to various former Psygnosis/Studio Liverpool staff....

People are especially hyped for Deep Cut, the new idol group that’ll act as hosts throughout the game. Comprised of members Shiver, Frye and Big Man, Nintendo showed off one of Deep Cut’s performances for Splatfest celebrations. Everyone is loving the combination of a scary lady wielding a fan, an idol whose forehead has been freed, and a manta ray. Watching them perform together, how could you not? As a completely unbiased third-party reporter (who thinks you should all be stanning Big Man), I’m bringing you a completely unbiased selection of Splatoon memes (declarations of love for Big Man) swimming around on Twitter....

As reported back in March, hair and fur textures were tanking the frame rate when played on PC - sometimes as low as 8FPS. Modders have released fixes which make all characters bald in a bid to alleviate the issue. Now an update has been released for the game, in which “models for hair and fur associated with important characters have been revised to improve performance.” The update notes also include a number of other changes....

Sakura’s face as it appears on the Street Fighter 5 character select screen has been a point of contention ever since she was added to the fighting game in January 2018, with some criticising her “bug eyes” and “alien” look. The update changes Sakura’s character select stance, and so we see her face from a slightly different angle and with different lighting. This makes all the difference, and her face on character select now doesn’t have that bug-like alien look....
