I am familiar with the starting island now - in fact I love it. I spend a lot of time in games that use starting islands, from Fortnite to Among Us (not really an island, that one, but you know what I mean)....

The game, which debuted on iOS back in 2019 before getting an Android release last year, builds on the loosely social aspects of Journey - in which you’d occasionally be accompanied by another (silent) player on your travels - to create an experience based around “compassion, friendship, and altruism”, where co-operation is integral to progression. More broadly, it’s a game about soaring across the seven realms of an exceedingly beautiful, richly atmospheric kingdom of billowing clouds, and exploring wherever your whims take you - with puzzley-platformy elements and delicate story vignettes thrown in along the way, all with a gently collaborative multiplayer aspect....
In a note to press, Konami said Inter Milan will feature exclusively within eFootball “and no other video game” from July 2024. That means Inter Milan won’t be in that year’s EA Sports FC (EA will ditch the FIFA brand from 2023). EA will have to come up with a fake name for the club, which just brought on Chelsea flop Romelu Lukaku on loan in a bid to challenge for next season’s league title....

Set in the town of Haven Springs, True Colors stars Alex Chen, a new female Asian American protagonist, and feature a popular crossover character from Life is Strange prequel series Before the Storm. Here’s our first look: True Colors is, as expected, developed by Before the Storm studio Deck Nine, with the prequel series’ lead writer and game designer Zak Garriss now True Colors’ director. During tonight’s Square Enix Presents livestream, Garriss said Deck Nine had been working on the game since 2017....
“We are aware of server issues with LittleBigPlanet and are working to get the issue fixed and the servers back online,” a PlayStation spokesperson told Eurogamer today. “We will keep you updated on progress and appreciate the continued patience as we work to resolve the matter.” A week on from Eurogamer’s initial report, LittleBigPlanet servers remain unavailable. Fans have blamed the downtime on a persistent DDOS attack by a disgruntled fan - more on all that below....
Following a first entry that sometimes struggled to find its own space in the series, the Judgment spin-off returns, this time with a greater sense of purpose. With the mainline series now seemingly staying on its turn-based RPG path, Lost Judgment carries the action torch alone, its backbone provided by back-breaking real-time combat, complemented by a dazzling selection of the series’ ever-expanding side activities. And at this point in the series’ lifespan, an expansive thing it is indeed....
As reported by Spanish website Vandal, several former MercurySteam employees recently took to the internet to query their names being omitted from Metroid Dread’s credits, despite being involved in the production of the title. “I would like to sincerely congratulate the Metroid Dread team for putting out such an outstanding game,” wrote 3D artist Roberto Mejías on LinkedIn. “I’m not surprised of the quality of the game though, since the amount of talent on that team was through the roof....
Metroid Prime 2D reimagines Retro Studios’ brilliant first-person adventure as one of the franchise’s earlier 2D side-scrollers. A team of fans have been working on the idea on-and-off since April 2004 using original artwork, music and sounds inspired by the original. “Instead of copying the source material exactly, we are instead focused on taking the core concepts, translating those, and then implementing them in a logical 2D solution,” the team wrote in a new blog post....
This is rapidly becoming the norm as PlayStation exclusive titles head to PC, what with bizarre mods added to Final Fantasy 7 Remake and a VR mode added to Horizon Zero Dawn. “We didn’t add modding support. It’s not something we developed time to create tools,” said senior manager of technical production Matt DeWald in an interview with Game Informer. “Everything we have is custom, so it’s really hard to build some of that stuff....

The series began life on PlayStation 2, though it found the greatest success on PSP, before transitioning to Nintendo platforms such as Wii, Wii U and 3DS and always followed a ‘segmented’ world design. Up until the arrival of Monster Hunter World, each area was broken up into a series of smaller, numbered maps. You would do battle with Monsters in these areas but they could move around the larger map where you could follow them through short loading screens....
Jones’ affinity with Full Throttle - developer LucasArt’s 1995 point-and-click biker gang classic, written by the legendary Tim Schafer - is, of course, pretty well-known by this point. “It blew my mind! I LOVED that game,” he wrote in a tweet at the start of last year, “I mean, REALLY loved that game.” And he wasn’t joking, either. During a bit of a lockdown slump, Jones’ eye fell upon a CGI animation that re-imagined a classic Full Throttle moment - as shared by Schafer on Twitter - and inspiration took hold....
Sony previously shared a taster of the various offerings that will be available in its Norse epic, but Ragnarök’s lead UX designer Mila Pavlin has now highlighted even more of them, including things such as puzzle modifications and auto-sprinting down muddy roads. Speaking to Game Informer, Pavlin said that the team focused on four main components when it came to accessibility: Vision, hearing, motor skills, and cognitive understanding. Features such as a high contrast mode will be available on Ragnarök’s release , and will enable players to allocate specific colours to item types, character types, backdrops, “and more”....
The game’s developer Angela Game has declined to reveal who requested the game’s removal, but PC Gamer reports it was from the developer and publisher of Ark: Survival Evolved, Studio Wildcard and Snail Games. The takedown request documents say Angela Game employs numerous former Snail Games employees and at least one had access to the Ark: Survival Evolved source code. Studio Wildcard became “understandably concerned” at similarities between the two games, including identical gameplay mechanics it believed were beyond coincidence....
Reports of stuttering and poor framerates in the PC version began to surface soon after Deathloop’s launch last week, and Arkane was quick to respond, assuring players it was “aware of reports” and looking into the issue “as a priority”. A little over a week later, Arkane’s first attempt at tackling the issue has arrived in Deathloop’s hotfix 1.708.4.0, which specifically addresses an issue experienced by some PC players “whereby mouse-based camera movement could result in the appearance of ‘stutter’”....
However, most notable is that the widespread issue of shimmering graphics is still yet to be fixed, though the team has acknowledged it’s working on it. The full patch notes, on Reddit, list a number of “known issues” that are not yet fixed in this patch. “The team continues to investigate several graphical issues reported by players regarding shimmering, sharpening and screen saturation when moving the camera,” it reads. Elsewhere, though, a long list of fixes has been implemented....
Sega first shared its interest in joining the NFT and blockchain throng last April, when it revealed it had partnered with Japanese company Double Jump Tokyo to begin selling the likes of visual art, in-game images, and background music based on its new and classic IPs in NFT form. It then repeated its enthusiastic stance as part of an investor briefing in November. The company appears to have adopted a less gung-ho approach to non-fungibles in the interim, however; earlier this week, Sega CEO Haruki Satomi explained that while the company was still eager to continue with its NFT experiments, it was aware of the negative reaction surrounding the technology and would be considering its future approach carefully....
