Vantage was officially unveiled as Apex Legends’ 22nd hero at the end of July, in a new Stories from the Outlands video introducing her as a young hunter on the snowy planet of Págos. Given the expansive range of problems critics and players have highlighted in regards to Babylon’s Fall since launch - from unremarkable combat to unwelcome live-service elements - Square and PlatinumGames could have taken any number of directions for its first post-release survey, but the focus this time around is on another roundly criticised area: its visuals. After a few initial warm-up questions, the survey begins canvassing opinions on pretty much every aspect of Babylon’s Falls’ visual design, including characters, equipment, NPCs, enemies, locations, battle effects, UI, and the overall “brushwork” art style....

Further details are scant to the point of non-existent, but Bloober has confirmed we won’t be seeing the fruits of its efforts for quite some time, with a launch not expected before 2025. IGN’s report into alleged issues with Bungie’s narrative team detailed “overt sexism, boys’ club culture, crunch, and HR protection of abusers as well as more complex stories of microaggressions, systemic inequalities, and difficulties in being heard”. Though the studio “recognised [its] shortcomings” and publicly committed to making improvements back in September, the statement from Pete Parsons apologised to all staff who have “experienced anything less than a safe, fair, and professional working environment at Bungie”....

The game - dubbed a new IP - was revealed during tonight’s PlayStation State of Play broadcast. We saw a stegosaurus, a T-Rex and more - hundreds of dinosaurs spilling out of portals into a futuristic city centre. Facing off against them were humans wearing mech suits, and it all looked a bit like Anthem. A subsequent Capcom blog post provided more detail: namely, that this is a five-versus-five multiplayer game where you fight dinosaurs, and only one team of humans survives....

As with Mullins’ previous creations, Inscryption - a dizzyingly strange blend of deck-building rogue-like, escape-room puzzler, and psychological horror - loves to surprise, which inevitably means some deviation away from its opening portion, a engaging combination of sharply designed card battling and Slay-the-Spire-style map progression. Here, the goal is to play cards - each depicting a woodland animal - onto a board. Each card will attack and take damage from any adjacent enemy cards at the end of a turn, but if there’s no card to block an incoming attack, players will take damage directly....

Following Cyberpunk’s disastrous release at the tail-end of 2020, the majority of CD Projekt’s development resources (as shown in the chart below) were focused on remedying the game’s most pressing issues. At the same time, a smaller team was working on its next-gen release, promised long before the project’s launch woes, and an even smaller group was doing preliminary work on its paid expansion. Inevitably, those numbers have shifted considerably over time - less than half of CD Projekt’s development staff were working on Cyberpunk’s base game and next-gen update by June last year, for instance - and that trend has, unsurprisingly, continued....

The lengthy public announcement, made this morning via Twitter, accuses PQube of misusing money gained from a diversity fund.
