Valve held a pumpkin carving contest in their office, so the Steam Deck team entered a Steam Deck-pumpkin hybrid. It comes complete with air vents and bespoke carved controllers. Naughty Dog shared a carving of a scene from The Last of Us Part 2, submitted to them by fan @wunderkins on Twitter....

It’s also been added to Xbox Game Pass on both console and PC. Fury, Then Silence, as the Episode 4 is known, follows pilot Will Mackenzie’s desperate attempts to escape a murderous gang of convicts from one of the darkest corners of Great Bear Island in order to continue his search for second protagonist Astrid. Hinterland says Fury, Then Silence will feature between 7 and 10 hours of gameplay, 60 minutes of narrative cinematics, and over 40 minutes of new music, with its action unfolding in a brand-new region dominated by an old prison complex built in the shadow of Blackrock Mountain....

“What if Sonic Triple Trouble had been originally released on the Sega Genesis / MegaDrive, after Sonic 3 and Knuckles,” asked fan game developer Noah Copeland. Well, Copeland not only asked this question, but they also answered it. After releasing a demo for their creation several years ago, yesterday saw Copeland’s passion project fully realised (thanks, The Deleter). This fan-made game not only features all levels from Sega’s original title with their new 16-bit look, but also “new stage layouts, enemies and gimmicks”....

According to a new report by The Washington Post, Spider-Man and Ratchet & Clank developer Insomniac, which was acquired by Sony in 2020, had made the decision to donate $50,000 USD to the Women’s Reproductive Rights Assistance Project (WRRAP) following the US Supreme Court’s recent proposal to reverse Roe v Wade, a key judgement which legalised abortion across the country - a donation Sony has agreed to match, along with any additional donations from staff, as part of company’s “PlayStation Cares” programme....

Coming from reliable source Deallabs, the PlayStation Plus games for June are reportedly God of War (2018), Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker and Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl. These games will be available from 7th June until 5th July. Some have seen the inclusion of God of War as a hint that Sony may be looking to up the marketing for its sequel, God of War: Ragnarök....

A tweet from Sony asks you to “Find Your Zone” at 10pm UK time on 28th June. While there’s little official information on what’s going to be anounced, serial leaker Tom Henderson reported on what is expected (thanks, eXputer). Three new headsets are said to be revealed under the “Inzone” H-series brand, all of which include 360 spatial sound for gaming and Discord certification. At the lowest tier, the Inzone H3 is a wired headset with no bells and whistles....

Amongst the news, one small nugget spotted in Sony’s earnings report was how the company is going to allocate the $3.6bn it spent on acquiring Bungie. In the report, Sony estimates that approximately a third of the money will be used for “deferred payments to employee shareholders, conditional upon their continued employment, and other retention incentives” (thanks, TweakTown). In other words, Sony will be spending $1.2bn on incentives to retain Bungie staff after its buyout takes place - and says it will do so for “several years”....

Reddit user Magister Organi, a Latin student, has been diligently researching the lyrics used in the game’s soundtrack and has confirmed the lyrics are in fact gibberish, despite many fans seeking hidden meanings. Instead, the lyrics are computer generated and adjusted to sound like an ancient language. Magister Organi’s research began with the Song of Lament, sung across the world by the sirens. These lyrics are indeed in Latin, but were written by a lyricist who only worked on this one song....
