BBC Studios announced the arrival of the Tardis into Fortnite today, and showed off images of a playable space it has built in the game’s Creative mode. In it, you can visit the Tardis, see Cybermen and run away from Daleks. But don’t expect David Tennant’s natty 10th Doctor to turn up in Fortnite’s official item shop. Unusually, this is not an official collaboration with Epic Games, and branding for this states as such: “This is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by Epic Games Inc....

“Our team is working hard on patch 3 for DL2 Stay Human,” the developer wrote. “It will be one of the biggest patches we’ve released so far. Apart from many fixes for both multi and single-player mode, it will also introduce a New Game+ mode, giving you more reasons to re-visit The City. “We’re planning to release patch 3 on all platforms by the end of this month. Full notes will be available once the update is live....

The news was revealed by our partner site GamesIndustry.biz, and it sees an end to a series that debuted in 2015 - though one whose roots go back much further as a crowdfunded project brought to life by its community. Bandai Namco went on to publish the first three games in the series, with Project Cars 3 releasing in 2020 - several months after EA had acquired Slightly Mad Studios as part of its takeover of Codemasters....

In a message that appears when starting up the game, EA states: “Due to a third party legal dispute, we must suspend Diego Maradona from appearing in FIFA Ultimate Team Packs, Ultimate Draft and the Soccer Aid World XI team. “As such, Diego Maradona Icon Items will no longer be made available in Packs, SBCs and FUT Draft, and their price range has been fixed until further notice. “We share our fans’ disappointment and hope to bring one of football’s greatest icons back in the game at some point in the future” (thanks VGC)....

EA made the announcement this afternoon, just days after the real-life FIFA and UEFA governing bodies said Russia’s national side and players would be banned until further notice. The inevitable FIFA 23, which is still to be officially confirmed, is not mentioned in today’s statement. “EA Sports stands in solidarity with the Ukranian people and like so many voices across the world of football, calls for peace and an end to the invasion of Ukraine,” reads a statement released via Twitter....
