This witchy boss can be found in the Raya Lucaria area of Elden Ring, which itself is nestled in the middle portion of the Liurnia of the Lakes region of the game. You can summon player companions in for this fight, and it might be a good idea to do that, as you’ll see with the first phase of this fight. Alternatively, you might want to use a spirit ash summon to handle the second phase of this battle. On this page: We’d only recommend using armor which protects against magic-based attacks for the fight against Renalla Queen of the Full Moon. The boss and her minions use magical attacks to target you and anyone else who faces up to her, so we’d recommend armor that gives you a fighting chance against magic. The aim of the game here is to identify which minions you need to kill in order to burst Renalla’s bubble (literally), and send her crashing down to the floor. You can do this by slaying any minions who have a gold aura around them, as depicted just below, as killing three of these minions will fully crack Renalla’s shield, and she’ll plummet to the floor below for you to deal damage to. As soon as you see a golden aura appear around Renalla Queen of the Full Moon herself, it’s time to back off. A big area-based attack is coming, and Renalla will once again ascend to her weird orb, and you’ll have to repeat the entire process again. There’s not a whole lot to look out for in this first phase, to be honest. Keep moving around the boss arena, and we’d recommend using physical weapons against the minions of Renalla to slay them as quickly as possible. The only thing to watch out for is when Renalla Queen of the Full Moon can bring down little fiery bursts from above in a certain area, although these are very easy to see and equally as easy to dodge roll through and out of the way of. Once Renalla’s health has been fully depleted, it’s time for the second phase of the fight. The boss begins this phase by casting a massive magical laser beam at you, which you should immediately sprint in a circular fashion around the boss to avoid. Renalla can also employ an ice-based attack against you, summoning a few ice shards in the air, which will then hone in on you after just a few seconds. Finally, another attack to watch out for is a zig-zagging icy blade which the boss throws towards you through the air, but both of these attacks can be relatively easily dodged through if you’ve got the timings down. The hardest part about this phase of the Renalla fight is actually getting to her. The boss is constantly moving away from you, and even if you do manage to stagger her with a few hits, she can jump backwards through the air while casting homing missiles at you. We’d definitely recommend using an Ash Summon with multiple characters, such as the wolves here, as it’ll draw Renalla’s attention for all the time you need to close the gap to her. Once you have settled on a starting class and starting Keepsake item, you should first work out how to level up, how to respec and use Ashes of War. Need some direction from there? Our Elden Ring walkthrough and Elden Ring boss order can help with where to go next, but we also recommend hunting down Golden Seeds, Sacred Tears, Crystal Tears, Talismans and some of our best weapon and best armor choices. If you are approaching the end game, we can help with the Volcano Manor quest and Rykard, Haligtree Secret Medallion locations, solving the Ordina, Liturgical Town puzzle, the Millicent quest, Commander Niall, Morgott, Godskin Duo, Maliketh and Malenia. Additionally, you’ll also bag the Remembrance of the Full Moon Queen item, which can be used with Enia at the Roundtable Hold for a spell or item, and the Great Rune of the Unborn, which allows you to respec in Elden Ring after the battle is done. Now, it’s time to continue the main story, which means, depending on where you’re at in the game, possibly facing off against Starscourge Radahn, one of the toughest boss fights in the game.
