Though they are entirely optional, finding them will unlock certain Shenmue Trophies and Achievements, with 50 required in total if you’re going for a Platinum or full set of Achievement points. They also come from Lucky Dip prizes, getting high scores on arcades, forklift races and slot machines. An additional note is that there are a set of Capsule Toys you cannot technically unlock in the HD remaster, as they were tied to trading certain Capsule Toys for others as part of the game’s Online Disc.
