Even though Spirit’s Eve has come and gone, this festival keeps the chill in the air and is the beginning of the busiest month in Stardew Valley celebration wise. The highlight of the Festival of Ice is the fishing competition. If you can catch more fish than the villagers, you’ll net yourself a couple of prizes. On this page:

You can start this competition by talking to Lewis and you need to catch at least five fish to win the competition every year. Once the competition begins, you’ll have two minutes to catch as many fish as possible. To increase your chances of winning, stand as close to your chosen pond as possible. Next, ensure that you have a red level case, otherwise your fishing line might miss the pond. Now all you have to do is catch the fish. If you’re having trouble winning this competition, then it’s a good idea to practice the fishing mini-game beforehand. The first time you win the fishing competition, you’ll be rewarded with a Barbed Hook, a Dressed Spinner, a Magnet and a Sailor’s Cap. If you win the competition again you’ll always be rewarded with 2,000g, which you’ll receive as part of your total earnings at the end of the day. One of the main goals in Stardew Valley is to complete the Community Center bundles or, if you’re corporate minded, you can buy a JojaMart Membership. Fishing is a great way to earn money in Stardew Valley, especially if you decide to use crab pots and ponds. Throughout the year you’ll also be able to take in a variety of festivals, including the Egg Festival, Stardew Valley Fair and the Night Market. With the Festival of Ice completed, the second Winter, and biggest, festival can begin - the Night Market!
